"Great men are almost always bad men" is a phrase that goes through my head a LOT (along with an appropriately gender-neutral-ized version when applicable)
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you superadd the tendency or the certainty of corruption by authority.” -Lord Acton, 1887

People take social media breaks because either they are not getting the engagement they feel they deserve or because they are getting exactly the type of attention they asked for.
Taking a break from social media. I’ll see you guys in a couple of minutes.

It was a ghost.
a lady called the cemetery and left an angry voicemail that was so long it literally cut her off while she was still talking

I am seeing an end to accepting controversy as exposure. This is a good trend. Can it last?
"Folks, this is unbelievable. George Nazi, inventor of being racist online and author of Fag Stomper comics, just posted a picture of a dead fascist and said 'this man was good'. We fact checked it and discovered a hidden history of problematic posts (1/276)"

We’ve returned to the olden days, when word-of-mouth was the only real way to advertise. As an author, if you enjoy a book, please: tell your friends. Your group chat, your sewing circle, your family WhatsApp, your work Slack, the voice channel of your MMORPG guild, anything.
Hey, so. I understand that this is anecdotal and not research, but. It is WILD how useless social media has become for promo. It's a fucking disgrace, really.

Criminalizing sex work has nothing to do with protecting women. Banning adult content on crowdfunding and payment platforms has nothing to do with protecting children. The goal of these laws/policies is to remove one of the few sources of income for queer, disabled, and other marginalized folks.

Do the men who want to limit birth control options understand their wives will stop fucking them in order to not get pregnant? Is a loveless marriage their goal?

Christian parents seem to think breeding is a way to pass on or even spread their beliefs. I'm the oldest of six children. My parents do not vote the same way I do. We are not the same religion. I could not disagree more with their life choices and belief systems. Breeding is not social dominance.
Mom is a very large part of my worldview and personality. The amount of kids I have does not make me more or less of a mother. Some people seem to think the purpose of their fertile years is to churn out as many kids as possible to establish social dominance. I am not sure how they afford it.

When I was in high school and college we could not use any information from the Internet as a source. Everything we wrote about needed to be found in a physical book. I spent days in multiple libraries every paper. Ai content is bringing back those dark ages. Hopefully this gets libraries funding.

Can I derail and talk about the larger families push? I have one child. I will only ever have one child. This is highly offensive to a large part of the population. They are vocally opposed to the one and done lifestyle. Parents of multiple children often discriminate against parents with 1 child.
I know they get rolled all the time but for the Times to get rolled by “actually they just want to reclaim the values of Western civilization as they see it … with larger families and fewer immigrants” is the Times putting the 14 words in the paper

Art colleges are closing. Opportunities for growth the artistic middle class had 10 years ago are gone. Start paying attention to how the population is getting pushed into ignorance. Smart people without access to facts are more compliant. Authority that controls the flow of information is absolute.
Bingo. They want us to be educated enough to perform work tasks, but not educated enough to think critically beyond following orders. It's why they favor trade schools over college for everyone but their own kids and other rich kids.

Millennials & zoomers were changing the system with their expensive educations & instant access to information via search engine database technology. AI shift is a concerted corporate effort to make the alphas as anti intellectual as the boomers. Ignorant people spend more money & make less waves.
Well this is grim
