Just so disgusted by the (all but 2) Republicans and 62 Democrats (see below) who voted to ban US officials from acknowledging the death toll in Gaza.

I was wondering about that! I imagine that Danny Davis’ constituents would not be happy about that. I’m glad to see my rep Quigley did not vote yes as I feared. I expect this “don’t talk about it & it doesn’t exist” bull from the GOP but for Dems to do it is gross.
Fuck me, truly disappointed at some of the names on this list. Like, David Trone, of the ACLU Trone Center for Criminal Justice Reform, who won’t be back in Congress next year? Wtaf
because MA doesn't have RCV, he "won" his primary (to replace Joe Kennedy III, a very safe Dem district) with 22.4% of the vote; three progressive women on the ballot each got less individually, but over 50% combined. he doesn't represent his district and shouldn't be in Congress.
The cool thing about Gallego is that he primaried Sinema on the promise of being super progressive and then once he raised millions and got the nom, he immediately started showing up on these lists of Dems who voted for shitty right wing bills.
I don't think that's an accurate characterization of the amendment. Assuming the "no funds for" is effective as a prohibition on the text that follows (which I don't think it is), US officials could still cite Israel's own estimates of the total death toll, which are not much different.
it's a stupid amendment that is, at best, pretty vague. (cite GHM statistics for what? cite them publicly? cite them internally? cite them critically? uncritically? etc. etc.). but the claims that it prohibits all mention of the death toll in Gaza are wrong
Or even truthful Israeli media data, which tend to lay between official Israeli govt data and Hamad. And have been shown to propagandize less than either.
I've been surprised that Valerie Foushee, who took a boatload of AIPAC money to win her primary against a Muslim candidate, has managed to avoid casting these awful votes.
US Rep Danny K Davis (D-#IL07) used to be noteworthy for being one of the most pro-Palestinian elected officials.
On this vote he's to the Right of Budzinski, Quigley & Sorensen.
bitter is 1/5 flavors humans can taste. all interesting in unique ways+ enhanced by their counterparts working/balancing together/each other to achieve true umami
(trying so hard to not make the easy 'your mom' joke here lo)
hope you get some kinda joy/mirth outta this or something in life, g'luck
