WKCR reports that student protestors occupying Hamilton Hall have zip-tied extremely heavy metal picnic tables to the front doors to barricade them, and they've opened a third-story stairwell window and flown a Palestinian flag from it

A few facilities workers were still inside Hamilton Hall when students barricaded themselves inside. They were quickly released, but Spec reports that one worker angrily shouted "They held me hostage" on his way out. (As far as WKCR can tell, protestors hadn't intended to keep anyone else inside.)

Columbia AAUP chapter faculty statement, posted online by classics professor Joseph A. Howley and read aloud on WKCR: "Columbia faculty have spent the day offering our help to defuse the situation on Columbia’s campus and have been rebuffed or ignored."

WKCR is struggling to keep their digital stream online because of massive traffic. They recommend using something called an "FM radio" if you have one.

I think she may be thinking that. But I don’t know. Columbia alumni lean progress. I think this is her being a bad match for the university. She wants students to be compliant, and that’s just not Columbia. She’s been there less than a year.

Hey what if when discussing hate we didn’t equate Jews with power and money? Columbia is now about 20% Jewish which makes it likely somewhere around 80% of Columbia grads aren’t Jewish. Many Jews are also supportive of the protesters. Most zionists are gentiles.

So clearly Columbia’s administration and Trustees want ONLY to prevail. How unfortunate.

Cannot begin to fathom why the university administrators think this is a good idea, especially as lots of other universities are coming to peaceful resolutions with protestors.

So far, the local news is reporting that Columbia has NOT requested NYPD intervention. But the mayor & NYPD are eager to storm in, whether the school asks them to or not. They’ve presented flimsy pretext & bullshit like “outside agitators”, in order to justify storming in.

The school is letting it happen and if they didn’t want it to happen, they would have stopped it. The school can do something to protect its students, and so far, they’ve been good with the violence against them.

Adams has been threatening them. Columbia should not kneel down to Adams, but here we are.
