I will say, send sufficient money my way and I'll whip up an opinion on whatever topic, in as many words, and on whatever timeline someone wants. 😁
idk i feel like expecting everyone to have an opinion on every horrible thing happening is how we get into a very big mess of people who cannot possibly have all the info saying wrong things very loudly and influencing more people to be loud and wrong

There are some days when I set aside my well-known dislike of engineers 😂
> Republican primary candidate for Missouri governor Jay Ashcroft says he's an engineer > He's not a licensed engineer, it's legally dubious at best to say he is, an actual engineer files a complaint > Ashcroft suggests abolishing engineer licensing altogether in Missouri as unnecessary "red tape"
Missouri governor hopeful Ashcroft knocked off balance by complaint about use of ‘engineer’ • Missouri Independentmissouriindependent.com Jay Ashcroft’s use of the title "engineer" and whether he is using it honestly has become a flash point for his campaign for governor.

Secretarybird vs lappet-faced vulture!!! I just got back from a reporting trip to the Masai Mara. These were two of the birds I most wanted to see and never did I imagine I’d see one kicking the other in its lappety face. (Also, hello. Get ready for a month of Kenyan wildlife pics.)

Strange Horizons do amazing work and bafflingly have never won a Hugo for it. I really hope we can change that this year - they would absolutely deserve it.
This is the last week of Hugo Award voting and we would like you to consider Strange Horizons for Best Semiprozine. For over 20 years, Strange Horizons has been publishing weekly issues filled with new stories, poems and non-fiction. Here are some more reasons you should vote for us below!

Yup, this right here. I'm in awe of people who can do their own marketing. I can't if I want to maintain a level of mental health that allows me to function. And, you know, *write*.
Many trad pub authors are in trad pub because we can't handle the needs of indie publication. I am in awe of my indie peers. My ADHD, however, says that is not a route I will ever be able to take. Just sourcing covers for my Patreon chapbooks strains what I'm capable of, executive function-wise.

Tomorrow is International Non-Binary People's Day, which ends Nonbinary Awareness week. We exist. We belong under the queer and trans umbrellas. We famously don't owe you androgyny, though some of us are happy to give you that anyway. Not me, though. At best, I'm a bit confusing.

Over at the Bad Place, I made a tradition of posting Douglass' "What, To The Slave, Is The Fourth of July," and I intend to carry on that tradition here. Since most versions you read in classes or in textbooks have parts omitted, the link below has the full text of the speech.
