This summer I will be supporting the Mongolian Olympic team because this is their uniform and it is a thousand times better than anything Nike has ever made.
I showed these to Pam who is from Northern China on the border with Mongolia and she was like "wait, those are MONGOLIAN clothes? They look Chinese!" LOL But, no, seriously, they're awesome. More Olympic costumes should have capes.

I was, once again, disappointed at the absolute garbage Ralph Lauren "designed" for American athletes. Just another retread of his very tired designs from yesteryear. I say we need a Project Runway level competition to decide who gets to design U.S. Olympic uniforms.
If you enjoy Judo, the Mongolian judoka are always great fun to cheer for. The Central Asian competitors always merge their traditional wrestling style with the Kodokan stuff that annoys judo purists but delights me.
Sumo is not olympic but Mongolians have dominated it since the late 90s. There has only been one Japanese guy who reached the highest rank in the last 15 years or so, and he was easily the worst of them. And that even though each gym is only allowed to have one non-Japanese wrestler
At the very least the US should be supporting younger or upcoming designers like Peter Do or Bethany Williams!
You at least want something out there that says “Americans would buy a distinct piece like this” instead of “yeah, they just wandered thru an RL outlet store & bought matching outfits”.
Gorgeous, classy, cultural and OMG those sleeves and collars. It looks like it was designed by an artisan instead of the committee of brand sponsorship look for the USA.
