/2 It’s also the vast militarization it’s going to require. We’re going to be an occupied nation. Detention of citizens and lawful residents is inevitable and in fact clearly intended. Large-scale violence against immigrants, suspected immigrants, and bystanders is inevitable and clearly intended.
/3 Plus there’s the militarization and mobilization of “private” forces — the go-ahead signal to the “stand down and stand by” Trump supporters who are going to be given the wink and the nod to forcibly detain, and kill “in self defense”, non-whites they think must be illegal.

It’s not just wrongful deportations, it would mean the jailing of anyone, especially non-white people, who ticked off a cop and couldn’t immediately prove they were here legally.

I suspect that cities and towns with well-known liberal populations or prior sanctuary activity will be targeted specifically; an unfortunate real life test of power threat theory, economic threat theories...

Yeah, the part that is so hard to convey to people is that they're not going to be protected from this wrath because they voted for him. They're useful idiots but that's as far as their value will go with Trump and his cohort.

Absolutely. And it won't be just undocumented. Any activist on a green card would be next, followed by naturalized citizen, then first generation "anchor babies". Then with the supreme court assistance he would be able to deport citizens as well until everyone was complying.
Trump gladly let Heritage pick most of his appointees. He doesn't care who takes thousands of roles, if they're never on TV. Project 2025 folks put the plan in writing, the authors signed their names to it, with dozens of right wing advocacy orgs co-sponsoring. It's the plan.
