It's become increasingly apparent to me that so many of these people treat politics like fanfiction - trump is just a fun wacky guy, the dems all actually love each other and watch Must See TV on NBC Thursday nights, while the rest of us have a four-month panic attack

What is it about Extremely Democratic Posting that does me especial psychic damage? Why does Ruthkanda Forever hurt more than most republicans being genuinely awful?
The Republicans just genuinely want to kill minorities, the poor, etc. and are serious and more or less straightforward about it. Dems are deeply unserious and infantilize things the process of the minorities, poor, etc. being murdered because they are well-to-do and not struggling in any way.
