I'm outside at a cafe and there's a young woman nearby who's clearly seeing her elder Gen X parents for the first time in a while and the dad just asked her if she's seen her sister and she said no and he said 'too busy?' and the passive aggression is oozing off him

just out of a screening of irish horror feature ODDITY at the galway film fleadh, and keep an eye out for this one a crowd- pleasing belter of a film with plenty of jump scares and fantastic performances it's in US/Irish cinemas from early august irish cinema at its best/most bonkers

i will never understand men who say they 'don't know how to write women' like we are an unknowable mystery living on a remote island they never interact with but like to ogle an island of boobs if you will

It's interesting how many men have chimed in to helpfully point out the dragons in the audience won't write reviews about bad portrayal. You are telling on yourselves. So we both recognize it's not about knowledge, it's about accountability over about staying clueless about inner lives of women.

If your area got a new Labour MP then it is your duty to email them and say that you are happy the Tories are out but that transphobia should have no place in the party. Make Starmer gently walk back his support for Rowling's position!

Do not, ever, criticize how someone else gives help. Don't y'all at someone who fosters cats just because people are dying somewhere else. Other folks are all doing what we can, and if that person can help cats? Well, cats need help, too. So do trees, waterways, library archives, you name it.
