There are other things he could be doing that don't necessarily break the constitution (which is of course upheld by the Supreme Court).

Here's a theory: The Trump assassination attempt is actually bad news for Trump. He wins if people don't vote. More engagement means more voters. This is a short-term distraction from Project 2025, but the association is now Right There and hard to shrug uff.
