I've got new stickers up in the shop! A holographic Trilobite, a pixie dust bisexual lighting cuttlefish, and a glossy retro rainbow nautilus!
Oh, and I've got a new shop name, as well! Go check out the new cool stuff. #sciart#paleoartwww.etsy.com/shop/electro...
The reason the Pacific Northwest is so fascinating and eerie to Americans is because it functions as a gateway to an uncanny realm of magic and terror (Canada)
OH LIKE WHAT?
LIKE BEING LOCKED UP?? IN THE SHIP'S BRIG??? ON BREAD AND WATER????
AND NOT EVEN FANCY MINERAL WATER OR SPARKLING WATER
JUST REGULAR DISTILLED WATER THAT TASTES FLAT AND GROSS
The latest Clarkesworld subscription drive has these little banner ads on the site. They tap into the effective ancient sales technique, "number go down." Very satisfying to see readers chipping away at it. I like watching it drop every day.
Stars!
Torq does a live DJ session for Patrons every Friday and I love it, I've discovered so much cool music, I put on my wireless headphones and go do housework or laundry while I listen. :)
Not yet but FUN FACT I just discovered Okkervil River like a couple of weeks ago, when the lead singer of one of my favourite bands was doing a Patreon session on zoom
And I literally made a note to go find and listen to more of their stuff!
Also, speaking of word of mouth, may I please remind you that
- Isabel Yap's collection of short stories NEVER HAVE I EVER is very good, and
- Nadia Bulkin's collection of short stories SHE SAID DESTROY is also very good
(And they are good in QUITE different ways)
In both cases (as with so many collections) it's like a symphony: you have an author who is a virtuoso at multiple instruments, and the degree to which they display this talent is slightly different in each story, BUT your first thought is always about how good it sounds.
Haha, actually I named him back at the shelter! There was a paperwork mixup and he had been labeled as a girl (his shelter name was 'Lilibet') and it wasn't till we had him in the adoption room getting ready to go that the volunteer was like "OMG! Lilibet is a MAN!"
(A very small fiasco!)
