I think a bad choice won by half a percent once and now people assume they don’t like it when nobody involved (not candidates, not voters) actually tried it
Ranked choice is a great system. NY is extremely corrupt and dysfunctional on multiple levels, and the NYC BoE is no exception. The fact that ranked choice has issues in NY doesn't mean it's unworkable even here, let alone elsewhere
Isn't the problem closed primaries in conjunction with RCV? I mean RCV gave us Eric Adams vs Sliwa, who won their respective primaries?

Is there not a recall election provision in the city's election laws? I feel like some cities can recall their mayors when they turn out as horrifically as this one has.
