An archeologist comes home after a long day of figuring out the age of skeletons at a recent dig site; and sees her boyfriend fuming, packing his clothes. "I'm leaving you! And I'm never coming back!" She asks him what this is all about. "Don't play dumb, I heard you've been dating other people"

You should probably go ahead and make your art, because you're the only one that can do it. Frankly, someone's gonna need it someday

A bit of literary analysis apropos of, well, many things: The ones who walk away from Omelas are just as guilty as the ones who stay.
One last fork I wanted to chase down before I finish: I do sometimes buy games on launch. Pacific Drive, case in point. I need to be malletted on the head so I can get TV-grade amnesia, forget about it, and rediscover it again. (PS: It's on sale too.)

when we talked to Linda Tirado on the phone she asked, do you want advice, someone to vent to, or a distraction from what's in your head it was the best question anyone ever asked us and we needed the last one and she provided
My favorite thing anyone has said to me during a complaint monologue was “do you want me to give you advice or do you just want someone to listen” yes that second one thanks, I know my options and also hate my options

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

I saw this posted on twitter but I don't think that user is on BlueSky and I wanted to share it here... This interview with Ethan Hawke perfectly describes the importance of art.

Y2K, the Ozone Hole, and Acid Rain should be constantly highlighted as models for successful coordination to solve a shared problem.
We learned the wrong lesson from Y2K. We should have learned that if we anticipate a crisis then coordinate and work hard, we can avert that crisis. Instead we learned, "why are these people freaking out? It's no big deal."
