Now I’m curious what the arguments are for Jessica Atreides being the main character of Dune.
I can kind of vaguely sense what they might be, but cannot articulate them off the cuff.

I’m just wrapping up the fourth volume of Caro’s LBJ bio. I love how Caro writes, but he does go on at length. Just finished the “Dallas” section. The event touched me in a way it never had before. Especially the description of Jackie.
15k voters? Did I drop an extra zero? 300 voters per state remembering that gaffe in four months seems a dangerously aggressive line to set. Not sure how you’d resolve the bet. Ask 10000 people and see if one remembers?
I did not expect to see this in the NYT newsletter (I don't subscribe so I don't have the details). That seems oddly... rational of the NYT editorial board, doesn't it?
An Irish Coffee and a donut is an almost perfectly balanced breakfast. Three of the four food groups: sugar, caffeine, and alcohol. The only one missing is nicotine.
I have an alternate game wherein the co-winners are:
- whoever refrains the longest from commenting on the usage of nauseous vs. nauseated
- whoever is the first to use nauseated in the correct situation
- anyone that uses nauseous correctly
What is this “bowl” you speak of? Was it a large salad-type bowl? Perhaps we were excessively cautious w r t splashing, but we had a two gallon bucket (or at a minimum a pot suitable for boiling enough water to cook a pound of pasta — perhaps six quarts?).
Never threw up that much volume, mind you.
