TRUMP says he hasn’t read Mein Kampf when asked if he’s channeling Hitler’s rhetoric: “I know nothing about Hitler. I’m not a student of Hitler. I never read his works. They say that he said something about blood. He didn’t say it the way I said it”
He defends his comments.
If he didn’t want to sound like Hitler, he’d change his rhetoric when people pointed this out. It’s pretty basic. The only conclusion is he wants to be like Hitler.
Under Hitler's short rule Germany was in ruins with a whole generation wiped out, shortly after Hitler killed himself what remained had half under communist rule.
It's weird that fascists don't seem to have read the ending or if they have fail to grasp the total failure of their hero.
"Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed"
DJT: "it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf”
Davis: “I did give him a book about Hitler, but it was My New Order"
I was mostly interested in the parts which substantiated that Trump had come into contact with Hitler's speeches, but it's true that he tried to claim he was given the book by a Jewish friend who is not even Jewish.
Look he's never even heard of this Hitler guy, okay? People say he was some kind of historical figure or something but Trump isn't a student of history.
It's always interesting when people answer questions they weren't actually asked. Spontaneously bringing up one very specific book just to say that you haven't read or studied it is... suspicious.
'I don't know anything about Hitler, except that when I said this same thing as him, I do know I meant something different, even though as I say I know nothing about him.'
He doesn't explain why he said immigrants are "poisoning the blood" of the country. Why use the specific words "poisoning the blood" if you don't mean anything racial? Of course, Hewitt does no followup to find out. A little too clever by half.
