You didn't know that you needed a picture of a tiny frog riding a giant beetle, but now you do.

When whimsical wildlife photography isn't what it seemswww.pbs.org This photo looks cute, but it reveals the cloudy intersection of wildlife photography, animal welfare issues and photojournalism integrity.

Had a dilemma over whether to use 🖤 or 🤍, which don't show up in dark mode or light mode, respectively. The solution... ... ... is to use <3 Which I shall do from now on. But please know: I think of this first as TESTICLE ICE CREAM, and second as a heart. :) :) :)

Re-reading my draft and taking notes for revisions. Now halfway through, about to hit the point where words gave up and it all turns to sludge…

Third, it helps me to have one or two key bits of writing printed up and taped to the wall over my desk. They’re the ones that somehow contain the thing that is why I’m writing this book. If I feel lost, I reread them, and they renew my instinctive connection to the story. 3/n

“AI” is the culmination of the tech industry. Every time you use it, you destroy the environment, erode labor protections, endanger workers overseas, enrich the ruling class, and make something unforgivably worthless, all at the same time – and it's all hidden from you in a frictionless distraction.
