Wow. @nytimes.com has closed their Threads account and left the platform after days of getting just shredded in the replies for their handling of Biden post debate. Now they're getting dog piled on Instagram for running from Threads.

Jasper Phillipsen, for those who don’t know, rides dirty by cutting across his competitors in sprint stages to force them to either brake or risk crashing. Phillipsen was until recently the favorite for the Green Jersey. Which makes Girmay’s victory today all the more sweet, dude is the Anti-Jasper

I take community classes at my local art college. Being in the studio with people has been great.

If you don’t watch cycling I want to share the joy of Eritrean Biniam Girmay, who is the first Black person to win a stage in the Tour de France and now won his second! In the first week! And he’s in green, which means he’s winning the most sprints (and beating Jasper Phillipsen, which is great.)

Girmay comes out of the World Cycling Congress Institute, a program to make cycling more accessible to riders from countries without cycling infrastructure. A gasp *DEI* program that is making the sport more exciting, more inclusive, and better for everyone.

8 years ago today Philando Castile was murdered. The criminal legal system failed to convict the cop who shot him despite the recorded evidence. We had to watch that video live just 24 hours after we watched cops shoot Alton Sterling in the back. (The video does not play at link)
