We totally noticed in this household. They've been working on this for awhile and we are livid about it. All they want to do is monetize information that is for the general good, and that is EVIL. If we let them keep on with this all we will have left is the Waffle House Index.

It's because they want to privatize weather. They tried doing it under his last administration but many people didn't really notice beyond the weird hurricane drawing he did. It's also why they cut (or at least tried to it's been a minute since I read that stuff) a bunch of NASA Earth's funding too

Let's be clear: Who gets to be considered fully human is what's at stake this election. We can have reasonable disagreements about government regulations and taxes, but we cannot have a reasonable disagreement about whether everyone is entitled to be treated as equally human.

man I used to not block at all. going wisdom was it just sends the message that you're paying attention, food for the troll, etc. very glad to have grown out of that, now I block people for saying they've never been to a powerviolence gig, for saying they haven't tried stir-fried lettuce, anything

Hey yo, if you haven't read this book and you care about the liberation of all sentient beings, read it. Also this is definitely a book to immediately request at your public library, make a point of it, please, it should *be* in your local public library just because. the ebook is about $15CAD.

Do something, you all. It will fight the existential dread, and you might make a real difference while you're doing it. I get the dread, I really do. But we don't win if we all give up from the beginning. It's a group project. If we each tackle a small bit, it'll add up. Time to work. ✊

This is a really good time if you're not already connected to local groups and organizations organizing around particular issues to find ones in your communities that could use your talents and skills.

I have to leave the house (GASP) and I’m kind of scared to see the damage from last night. I hope the city didn’t lose too many trees.

Here’s the thing about the Vance pick: it’s probably unhelpful in electoral terms. But, in terms of governance, it’s further evidence that they’re Going For It. Trump 1 was hobbled in his authoritarian attempt by the admin and GOP. Trump 2 will be aided by both. They’re gonna go for it.

If anyone I know has an Ikea Tertial lamp they're not using/willing to get rid of, HMU. Looking for any color that isn't black. (I can get a new blue one at Ikea, but figured I'd ask here first. :D)
