funny how chuds looooove to claim that "go woke, go broke" and yet and yet

I always point to Baldur's Gate 3 as proof that that adage is pure bullshit. It's probably one of the wokest games ever made and it was a smash fucking hit.
Avatar
It’s almost like when media tries to be more inclusive it appeals to more people or something Wild concept, I know :V
Avatar
The only reason anyone can argue “go woke go broke” is that there’s more to appealing to a large audience than inclusivity. If your game is inclusive, but it’s not enjoyable to play, then inclusivity won’t make it a success.
Avatar
they act as if the mere act of having some sort of inclusive design, or storytelling or *anything* not pandering directly to them and their tastes is self-evidently bad.

bud light stocks actually went way up after collaborating with Dylan, sure they went down with all the conservatives leaving but it went back up again
Yep, exactly. Turns out you can't shine a turd into being anything that people will want to buy for their living room, who knew?

A few years back, a tabletop game company I used to work for fired a transphobic writer. If you listened to the chuds, it was pure Go Woke, Go Broke and they swore to drive the company into bankruptcy. Their last Kickstarter campaign made over 7.5 million dollars.

Because in reality it's "Go woke OR Go Broke"

Fuck Tractor Supply. All my homies hate Tractor Supply.
Avatar
Good. We only spent a few hundred dollars a year at TS, but I’ve spread the story to others who are appalled and say they’ll shop somewhere else too.
Avatar
The secret to Tractor Supply is that they are rural/suburban, and the massive pet supplies section brings in a very diverse crowd. They compete as much with PetsMart as they do with Lowes/Home Depot. Being welcoming has been part of the brand for years.
Avatar
well, they're not so welcoming anymore...
Avatar
Welcoming to "our neighbors", you know the ones
Avatar
Can confirm, used to go there mostly for their (very nice relative to my area’s petcl) self-service Dog baths. Always liked their selection; often picked up other lawn/garden stuff there- not anymore, though.
Avatar
The first one in my area is on a main highway in city limits. Weird. A very diverse clientele who mostly buy pet supplies and garden equipment. I wonder how this will play at that store.
Avatar
Same for the one that used to be near me. We’d hit it after going to the nearby co-op since it was closer than Lowes.
Avatar
They built one very close to me in the suburbs. This area has become quite diverse due to less expensive housing in my state. Customers are half buying farming stuff and others buying pet food and birdseed. This will be interesting too.
Avatar
I’ve in the middle of the burbs, and had just discovered them for cat food. Never setting foot in there again.
Avatar
We bought dog food, treats and toys for years from them. Used their pet wash station. Bought lots of gardening supplies, plants and other junk. We have other choices.

I don't even go to TS, but I'm willing to write them a letter and tell them to shove it.

I wasn't kidding. If you have any suggestions before I send it let me know.

This story is funny on so many levels. like all the people saying they buy tractors from tractor supply.
Avatar
Avatar
yeah, bunch of magas coming out in 'support' saying they will buy tractor parts and tractors from tractor supply (how can you say you live far from tractor supply without saying you live far from tractor supply)

What did Tractor Supply do? Why do we dislike them?

Oh great. The anti-DEI train is making its first stop. Capitalism will be saved. /s

Looking at year to date, they seem to be doing fine. So we need to keep spreading the word about them. Lower sales should drop their stock price over time
Avatar
so that first steep drop in June is when Starbuck (blasphemy that he has that name) first brought it up and what caused the reactionary response. the second current drop is in response to the new policies, so... your mileage may vary on how important it is
Avatar
it should also be noted that strong support of many best in class DEI and other "leftist" policies were implemented by them before the long, slow climb to that peak, policies they were annually commended for in business journals
Avatar
Ah, so new owner with Ideas Sigh
Avatar
It's not new owners, just that they rolled over for right wing trolls

Wonder what caused their stock price to spike on the 28th. That seems to be in reaction to their announcement. Then their actual customers got word & they're losing business fast.
