It looks as if Labor needs nothing from Farage or the Cons They have a more than adequate ruling majority Farage can go pound sand
They key fight is going to be immigration. Farage has very specifically said already he’s going after Labour, and they will see demonising migrants as the way to beat him back. Don’t expect much change from how it’s been under the tories, and things might in fact get worse than they have been

Here's what happened: The fascist majority in the body that for some reason is still allowed to call itself our Supreme Court took the Constitution and American democracy out in the back of the building and shot it in the head.

Been a subscriber to the NYT for 20 years and I believe this is the first time I’ve ever left a comment on a story. Absolutely unhinged shit cloaked in civility and arrogance. Of course, nothing this court does will negatively hurt a straight white male member of the elite.
Due respect to the professor, this is laughable special pleading on behalf of John Roberts—his old boss—whom he repeatedly conflates with the whole court in this piece. www.nytimes.com/2024/07/05/o...

The bad faith from which fascists act is a fathomless pit they dig for everyone around them to inhabit forever; it's the mass grave they intend to push us all into. Anyway, our bribed fascists in robes made a full course meal of the execution in the last week or so.

Reboosting this for people in England. Trans women particularly, and LGBTQIA people generally, need help to fight against erosion of our rights. This consultation started under the Tories and the results will be used by the next government.
People of England, your attention please. Reminder about the consultation closing 11 July about changes to the relationships, sex & health education statutory guidance. If you're LGBTQIA, or an ally, please check it out & complete with a view to protecting LGBTQIA people. www.gov.uk/government/c...

And so I think we can see the fascist christian vision of the future. These apocalypse-minded religious creeps intend to convert everyone who isn't a mostly white mostly male mostly christian wealthy person into one of the three states they find acceptable—servant, slave or corpse.

For example, you'll have to ignore the fact that the supremacist court was also not elected and was mostly appointed by men who never received the most votes from the people, which should be easy enough if you are free of "the cult of science."

yes, we boiled the planet, but it was worth it to make a machine that, instead of adding two plus two, takes the statistical average of every answer to questions containing "what" "is" "two" and "plus" from a database of illegal cell phone transcripts and returns a fake nude pic of a high schooler

Even someone who believes that Chevron deference was "incorrect" in an abstract sense would have to be able to see that the court's don't have the *capacity* to do what agencies do. This is more total work for fewer people, who are already overloaded. They're not dumb. They don't *want* it to work.

Yup. They just want to fuck over the administrative state.

$500 pays for training 100 voter ID assistance volunteers, each of whom can assist more voters $1,000 covers all the costs of running our dedicated Helpline for two weeks The impact of this auction will be INCREDIBLE and y'all have done this!

I also want to add some context to this from the #VoteRiders website. $35 funds the cost of securing a vital document (such as their ID or birth certificate) for one voter $50 pays for directly contacting 100 voters, targeted because they are likely to need ID help
I just downloaded the current sales sheet to do some quick math, and over the past week y'all have snatched up 2,423 Buy it Now items to raise a collective $53,003. So when we say those $1 and $5 and $10 and $20 items add up, WE ARE NOT JOKING!

Just a reminder for people watching the auction that this bundle is currently 1/2 of what the scarf alone usually goes for!
Apologies to whoever is currently running away with this signed bundle + scarf from Helena Greer, but in 2022 one of her entrelac scarves went for over $200! This auction seems ripe for the sniping. www.32auctions.com/o...

I feel like I've been reading either too much or just enough of @djangowexler.bsky.social 's work because one of the first things I'm ironing out in this editing bonanza is that I have my civilization fed, watered, and clothed appropriately from sustainable sources that make logistic sense.
