I don’t know how to respond if I knock on a voter’s door, tell them to vote for Biden and they tell me ‘idk man, isn’t he super unfit and doesn’t know what day it is?’ Best case they leave it blank

I have no idea the best path re Biden but I do know a solid week straight of “Biden Old” and “Rich Dems Worried” above-the-fold stories are *obscene* in the face of SCOTUS using the Constitution to wipe their asses purely in the service of reinstating a felon rapist as president. Crazy-making shit.

co-sign but i will add: i don't know the best path but i do know the worst path, and that's replacing him with anyone other than kamala, via any process whatsoever.

2/ Most of us don't like to remember it on a daily basis, but at the end of the day, our legal structures are layered atop the instruments of death, and at base--once everything else runs out--they depend on those instruments for their motivating power.

Think about the baselines here. Taney inherited a vile political system and dedicated his career to perpetuating it. Roberts inherited a system that, although flawed on any number of dimensions, sought to uphold a modest version of democratic equality. He's dedicated his career to dismantling it.

i don't know whether AOCs call for impeaching the justices will be the right one (it doesn't have a chance in hell of getting through), but the conversation has to start with congress, who are prime offenders in letting the court get to this point, and i'm encouraged someone there recognizes that

sorry but “keep electing democrat presidents and senate majorities indefinitely until enough of scotus dies” never was and certainly is not now good enough. it’s just now. party leadership needs to wake the fuck up

Homeless people can be arrested for sleeping, Presidents cannot be arrested for rampant graft and corruption done while in office. There is no clearer a summary of "conservative 'law and order'" than this.

Yeah it’s not like we’ll see a repeat of 1968, when the Democrats downshifted to a Vice President at a convention in Chicago that was plagued by protests against the party’s support for an unpopular foreign war and wound up creating an opening for a candidate they’d beat before. Totally different!
YES THAT WORKED SO WELL AND DID NOT AT ALL THROW THE PARTY INTO A DIVISIVE NOMINATION CONTEST AND LOST ELECTION THAT WOULD HAUNT IT FOR THE NEXT HALF CENTURY

even the rallying around a then-78-and-already-showing-signs-of-decline biden in 2020 was careless! they were as concerned (or more) with keeping bernie or warren out of leadership as they were with removing trump.

one element of Grants Pass is that it’s not just about whether you can enforce anti-camping laws against the homeless. it’s about whether you can enforce those laws **even when you haven’t provided adequate shelter beds**
First decision is Grants Pass. Gorsuch has the 6-3 opinion finding that the Eighth Amendment does not bar "generally applicable" laws banning public camping. Sotomayor writes the dissent. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...
