Just had an interesting phone convo with Kristin Hook - D running against Chip Roy in TX 21. Not my district, but I’m curious if there’s any polling data on the likelihood of flipping that seat. My guess is highly unlikely. Any insights @kleinman.bsky.social?

The dream
"Paris has closed more than 100 streets to motor vehicles, tripled parking fees for SUVs, removed roughly 50,000 parking spots, and constructed more than 1,300 kilometers of bike lanes since Mayor Anne Hidalgo took office in 2014. Those changes have contributed to a 40% decline in air pollution."

A Democratic lawmaker in Texas voted for legislation targeting LGBTQ people. She just lost her re-election race overwhelmingly in a Dem primary. The winner, Lauren Ashley Simmons, is LGBTQ herself, and a labor organizer. t.co/ZX0mWK3xuv

It’s been about a year with my Mustang Mach-e and I could never go back.
we're one month into this hyundai ioniq 5 and it is...incredible? it's comfortable, it drives and handles like a dream, the range is as promised (and honestly a little more), and the interior on the mid-range trim is very nice. also there's a ton of trunk space. i have, thus far, no complaints.

Made this in advance for dinner tomorrow. Taking a lot of effort not to devour it all tonight. The smoky ham and chicken stock brings it to a new level. www.ansonmills.com/recipes/454

Got in late from Mexico City & of course dinner was at Hughie’s. Not even close to the best Vietnamese in Houston but it’s close & fast & has a crazy selection of craft beer. As the 11 year old said, “Hughie’s is our checkdown.”

Same. Hearing a “progressive” friend who posts daily supporting Biden tell me he didn’t have sympathy for Palestinians and that they were all part of a “sick culture” broke me this weekend.
Despite my cynical nature and the types of things I write about, I have always thought people are generally good on balance. You sort of have to think that to keep going. I don't think I do anymore though.

Maybe not the most traditional pairing, but I’ll take it. Spanish vermouth & soda with HEB cheeseburger chips.
