Ban crypto mines
I learned at an engineering conference recently that one crypto mine in TX, 100s of MW, makes more money off ERCOT demand response markets than it does off crypto repeat: TX ratepayers pay them more to sometimes stop mining than they make by actual mining just bananas misuse of power markets 🔌💡

Original poster deleted their post, wonder why, but here’s the article these quotes the original poster had screenshot came from. The White House is protecting everyone inside it from Covid with a myriad of mitigations👇 but your kids in school? NOPE! www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives...
When they say “we have the tools” to protect us from Covid, they literally mean just they have them, the president and politicians in the white house. No precautions for you peasants, get back to work.

The rate at which air pollution from power plants, cars, etc. kills people is wild. Millions of deaths per year, almost all avoidable if we replace fossil-fueled cars, trucks, power plants, furnaces, boilers, etc. by clean alternatives that are affordable and effective today.

Once again, the biggest problem with this SCOTUS majority is not their method of constitutional interpretation. Because they don't use any one method consistently. The problem is that they pick and choose whatever method justifies ruling in favor of Republicans in each case.

In this column, the co-author “The Cancelling of the American Mind” — a book imploring readers to “reclaim a free speech culture” — ridicules college students for protesting the killing of 30,000 people, then gleefully celebrates a university’s decision to send riot police to violently arrest them.
