I think this is the first person on here to point out that Biden could now "legally" order the IRS to release Trump's tax returns. Good point.

Add "public release of the tax returns of Donald J. Trump, the Trump Organization, all Trump children and their spouses and any other place that Trump money might be hiding" to the list of official acts that Biden might take here.

BTW, if you replace Biden, it is Kamala Harris or nothing. Black voters will see the fact that you skipped over the clear next-in-line

In a matter of days the Supreme Court has legalized corruption, legitimated mob violence, and granted to Donald Trump the powers and immunity of a king. I need to recalibrate my ability to be shocked and horrified, it obviously can’t keep up with the dissolution of American democratic norms.

Hochul’s decision to kill congestion pricing was horrible but seeing a story about Gen Z influencers abandoning Biden over climate policy makes me think pols have absorbed the lesson that lowering emissions just doesn't pay off politically - you make enemies and proponents won't be satisfied.

Dersu Uzala may be the only movie that laments a genuine loss from premodernity: trust and generosity. Unflappable care for those moving through the world with you. The lack of a constant threat of starvation and death from exposure means strangers no longer need to depend entirely on one another.

Dersu Uzala is a series of incredible paintings and it is criminal that I am watching it at home and not in a theater
