I am putting out this heartfelt call: please, I beg of you, it’s important that everyone except me turn down the political temperature! It’s so crucial in these turbulent times for everyone who isn’t myself to watch what they say!! 💗

Reminder from a Pittsburgher who was at one point Mr. Rogers neighbor: “Look for the helpers” was intended to be advice for his usual audience, children. We’re grown ups now. We’re supposed to be the helpers.

Anyway, in my personal experience, one of the most important roles to bring change is that of an organizer. Organizers look at existing power structures and systems and set specific, attainable goals and work with others to achieve those goals and -- any of us can do it. We have to do it.

The way we’re all told to treat all this as normal. It’s fine that half your email is scams. It’s fine that you can’t answer your phone. It’s fine that every Instagram post is full of scam bait comments. It’s fine that people text you weird phishing links. Just adjust your behavior.

Reupping this take.
Time to orient myself to BlueSky with a scorching hot take that will prob go ignored... I'm not a fan of urbanism as it exists in NYC, as it tends to favor the incredibly rich, incredibly well-structured downtown area at the expense of the outer portions of the city, which are as dense as most (1)

Score Update: People 34, Trump 0 It’s a SCORIGAMI! This is the first 34-0 verdict against a former President in recorded history.

Anyway the most recent former President of the United States has been found guilty of felonies and now there’s a substantial chance people are going to die because his followers are freaks and the so-called “mainstream” GOP will just shrug and blame woke or something.

A worthwhile read about the work that my brother is doing!
This is such an amazing team to work on, and everything about all of this is so surreal. Also: there is one key to our success, and it's Debbie, Kat, Kathryn, Akiva, Dylan, Thomas, Lane, Don, Hilton, Marty, Sara, Cathy, Yvette, and our clients. www.nytimes.com/2024/05/26/n...

As amused as I was by @questauthority.bsky.social’s original letter, I am impressed by the savage thoroughness of this ten times more. Proud of my brother.
The second letter that @questauthority.bsky.social sent to LAPD reps on my behalf. Even more savage than “LOL, no.” I’ve highlighted my fave parts. What are yours?

One thing about the Trump trial: it's weird that we have normalized the very existence of a "fixer"

what a country, man. the one thing all the schools reliably teach is what to do in a mass shooting, and if you learn it, the cops call you a terrorist

One of my favorite UCB related memories was being at a back table of McManus with @actualandyrichter.bsky.social and others when this came out and anytime someone came close to the table he’d look at them and loudly say “Andy Richter Controls The Universe. Tuesdays! 9:30! FOX!” A highlight.
