I don't know what the first federal court reform should be, but if the Supreme Court says they can strike it down, the second court reform should be creating a new federal circuit for Little Diomede Island Alaska and reassigning every Federalist Society member to it.

jesus, at minute 22 he starts digging in on trump and just absolutely gores him deep over and over again, people talk about trump as if he's the only one ever able to score any points, but biden's calling trump a criminal, a rapist, an idiot and a traitor to absolutely *ROARING* applause

Convicted felon Donald Trump was supposed to be sentenced today, before the Gang of Six on the stolen supreme court re-wrote the rules for him. There's no rule of law in the United States while the courts remain captured.

There’s nothing in the rules of Monopoly that says you can’t flip the board over and punch your opponent in the mouth. But if someone did that, they’d be out of the game forever. What Trump did was far, far worse. And everyone’s still just… sitting at the table, letting him play.
There’s a presidential candidate who organized a coup on live TV and was recently convicted of dozens of felonies for something entirely separate, and the political system is demanding his opponent step down.

I think the effectiveness of Project 2025 is its function as basically a wiki hole. if you start pulling at it you are going to hit something insane organically, right away. and there’s never any need to engage deeply with any of its individual atrocities, so there’s never a place to defend.
Lol Trump’s biggest vulnerability of the entire campaign is literally peaking and Democrats are wasting the moment fighting their own president. Sincerely, what are you guys doing

It's not every day that senators ask the attorney general to appoint a special counsel to criminally investigate a sitting Supreme Court justice. What's more, the case against Clarence Thomas is quite credible. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...

Constitution: People involved in insurrections should not be President. Roberts court:...hmm, no, I don't see it. Constitution:.... Roberts court: but the president should have immunity for crimes

Luckily, when we hear the excuse "we were just following orders" there's nothing horrific that comes to mind.
Seems crazy! But just logical. If a President cannot commit a crime in the course of an official act, like giving an order to the military, how can you prosecute the person who follows the order? There’s a whole code of military conduct about “illegal orders.” All orders are legal now.

Official act. Immune.

Not the most terrifying thing but perhaps the most infuriating: every single thing we said about these fascist Republican fucks has been proved out and all the people who assured us that what is happening would never happen smoothly pivoted to yes it's happening but it will be fine.

/8 At any rate, congratulations to the Federalist Society for an achievement beyond the reach of the British, outside the grasp of bloody civil war, impossible to Nazis and Soviets and terrorists: defeating the American idea.

There are two elements to the immunity decision that are particularly extreme in a way that many will miss: (1) motive is irrelevant and (2) immune acts are not just excluded from prosecution, they’re excluded from evidence. /1

“Others, including some Republicans who immediately began texting Trump directly about their elation over the decision, were thrilled that the Supreme Court’s ruling also specifically started pulling teeth out of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6-related criminal case against Trump.”
“Already, the sources familiar with the situation add, lawyers & advisers to the former & perhaps future president are planning on incorporating Monday’s Supreme Court decision into court arguments & documents in Trump’s criminal cases brought by prosecutors in Georgia & @ the Department of Justice”

I personally think we should unsubscribe unless and until the institution can be made less partisan & less powerful.
Probably natural to make comparisons to the Dred Scott Court as the standard bearer for awfulness. But also important to remember Dred Scott was ignored by several states in 1857, & then by the Republican Congress during the Civil War. Most 19th c Americans did not subscribe to judicial supremacy 2/

No because Biden is a Democrat
if President Biden declared today's Supreme Court ruling to be an assault on democracy and ordered Chief Justice John Roberts imprisoned indefinitely, would that be an "official act?"

If your state has a “sodomy law” on the books then now is an extremely good time to agitate to have it repealed. Lawrence v. Texas is likely to be overturned by this court and then oral & anal sex will be criminalizable again.

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. Any individual or actor who won't say two words about the need for the incoming President to respect the rule of fucking law can get themselves bent.
Trump is a convicted felon who stole classified documents and tried to do a coup and the NYT never called on him to drop out. Ridiculous
