So to confirm, now we have near-final numbers: Every time 19 Tory MPs get a bit grumpy this parliament and stick their letters into the 1922 Committee... ...it'll automatically trigger a leadership contest.

Worth remembering, for the next five years, that the Tory party rules ASSUME they'll have a large number of sitting MPs. e.g. to automatically start a leadership context only 15% of tory MPs have to put in letters. 15% of 130ish seats is... not a lot.

Ok, they’re really insisting I stop now. Here are dishes 7-10. Shanghai Miu and Shitake Mushrooms with ginger and garlic. Beef in red oil. Beef with basil. French chips (basically chilli and salt French beans). I’ve made my dad incredibly happy, so a good day well spent. 🍽️🍜

Still cooking for the folks. They keep telling me they’re no longer hungry and I keep bringing out more food, and weirdly it still gets eaten. This is spinach two ways, one with ginger one with sesame. Radishes in chilli oil. My stepmom loves wings so some of them with a chilli dressing. 🍜🍽️

Poach a chicken breast. Shred it. Douse it with chilli oil and Sichuan peppercorns. Feed it to parents. Hilarity ensues. 🤭🍽️🍜

It is long past time to retire the concept of the "Trump voter" as a distinct and puzzling political animal. The modal Trump voter isn't a laid-off steelworker or a benighted Qanon fanatic but a completely ordinary Republican backing their nominee. The same kind of people who backed McCain & Romney.

Liberal pundits operating in the "applaud me for being sympathetic to Trump voters' grievances w/elite liberalism" genre should admit to this much: They're being unfair to liberal voters, who never get this solicitude, and they're ostrich-like in their refusal to grapple with the dark side of MAGA.
