If we want to preserve our Republic, we cannot just say that the law is whatever the Supreme Court says it is, and no interpretation of it is better than any other. We have to think: there is such a thing as the meaning of a law, which judges try to work out.

It's not just that this person is parroting absurd falsehoods because they're too lazy to a 30 second google search. It's also that they think Biden has special magical powers that he refuses to use. Like acid wash and mullets, Green Lanternism will never die.

“There wasn’t a real primary because my preferred candidate recognized that they couldn’t beat Biden.” This isn’t qualitatively different from Trump saying any election he loses was rigged.

I'm really annoyed with the "There wasn't a real primary this year" argument because if people think Biden's as bad as everyone seems to think he is, someone would have primaried him. Every politician is a careerist asshole, and the people who would have run actually interact with him.

If Biden or Harris wins, I think there’s a very good chance that Vichy SCOTUS tries to hand the election to Trump. If that happens, we’ll see violence nationwide. So what would Biden do? I have no idea, and that’s one of many things that’s been keeping me up at night.

Three obvious truths about the election: 1. A brokered convention is political suicide and you can permanently ignore anyone pushing for it. 2. Starting a campaign now is v. difficult, so Kamala may or may not be stronger than Biden. 3. The longer this indecision continues, the more it helps Trump.

It’s been really remarkable how incurious a lot of the Whitmer/Newsom/[someone other than Harris] takes have been regarding things like “what are the mechanics of nominating X?” or “does Y inherit Biden’s war chest?” from people ostensibly paid to be savvy enough to know the answers

A reason a handoff to Harris makes more sense than an open convention is the delegates were not selected with any intention of ensuring they represent party groups and interests. Maybe in a future cycle but not now. Do people calling for an open convention even know anything about the delegates?

Years ago, South Park anticipated the plan for replacing Biden: 1. Biden steps aside. 2. ??? 3. Victory There's certainly an argument for replacing Biden, but I haven't seen anyone make it.
