The American luggage people are all: - “don’t stress, just be patient!” 🥰 - “don’t worry, we can rent you a chair, no problemo!” 🤡🤡 - “I’m sure they removed your chair from the plane to make room for more bags, after all we can’t be leaving bags behind!!!” 🚮🚮🚮

“Don’t worry, we almost always find missing luggage within three days!!!!” IT’S NOT LUGGAGE IT’S MY LEGS THREE DAYS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO BE WITHOUT MY LEGS 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Worst I’ve ever seen an airline pull was when I took a Westjet flight with my mom to BC and they brought her wheelchair out in a box completely disassembled down to the nuts and bolts. Their response when we asked what happened was “someone must have gotten bored”

Fortunately my dad is handy enough to do most of the repairs on the chair so he knows it inside out, unfortunately he was not on the trip with us so we spent hours stuck in the airport while he explained how to reassemble it over the phone to one of the airport operations guys.

They also said this like it was a funny joke like “well SOMEONE must have gotten bored back there *chortle chortle*” I think the compensation they offered was like, a $200 voucher for future Westjet travel or something.

The way some of the employees were laughing and telling us to chill 🤬 (some others were much more compassionate).

So completely fed up with airlines offering travel vouchers as compensation for very real problems like this. You blithering idiots just screwed over someone's 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺. Do you think they're terribly interested in using your services 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯?!

I think I would have failed my willpower save, at that point.

This is why we need to nationalize our airlines again

just nationalizing the industry won't fix the culture of "Fuck their shit, idgaf" that seems to go across a lot of the corporate non-flight crew side of aviation.

This is happening. The comments don't influence whether it happens or not. You can ask for things in the rule to be changed (like grammar and some phrasing), and the government can think about it, but this is happening. It's more like an announcement.

The more people who comment, the more the government can wave it around and say, "look, 5K (or whatever) people think this is a great idea!"

This Federal government document disagrees with you. downloads.regulations.gov/FS-2018-0053... However, a constructive, information-rich comment that clearly communicates and supports its claims is more likely to have an impact on regulatory decision-making. Read the whole thing, incl. point 7.

Epilogue: I just received an email from Delta airlines, who was asked by the DOT to apologize to me for delaying my flight to wait for first class's oven racks. 😂

Why do people think wheelchairs are one size (and type) fits all? Imagine if shoes only came in one size. Say a size 4 wooden traditional dutch clog. Good luck getting anywhere in that, even if you are a size 4
