You can usually see if someone is registered to vote if you have their name, location, and some other details. But as far as I can tell, finding out if they actually cast a vote in a particular election requires a request submitted to the county clerk where they're registered

Again, as far as I know this info isn't listed online in an easily searchable database

Orgs that have purchased voter files have voting history. It’s how political campaigns target their mailers and the like.

I don't know about other states, but in Ohio you can get participation history straight from the county BOE website if you know their date of birth.

I personally checked a copy of the Michigan voter file to confirm he’s registered. I’m taking the word of somebody else who has access to a file that includes voter history on that part. (Every state makes their voter file available one way or another)

Thank you. It's interesting, and I fully appreciate things vary state by state, but here in New Hampshire at least you can find out if someone checked in at the polls or mailed in a ballot in each election. That's often tracked in connection with keeping registration lists updated.
