"One in three young men haven't had sex in the last year," complains Galloway on Morning Joe. He says that lonely broke young men are "the most dangerous people on the planet." The implication is that they deserve to get laid. That's incel. So glib. So creepy.
Not only do they deserve to get laid, but he's implying women better put out or young men will go ballistic (bad pun, sorry). Scott has made these same veiled threats repeatedly. He seems overly excited at the prospect of sexual violence. Why?
It’s signaling two ways. 1) Its normal and natural that men be angry and violent towards women who won’t capitulate to their sexual wishes, and 2) women must capitulate or face violence.
I don't think it's 1-1 "women aren't having casual sex with young men with conservative views" but I would note about 1/3 of young men have them and single men I know with even mildly right wing views have trouble getting laid—even if they're not outright misogynists, they don't offer much.
lol if I want sex and can’t have it I channel my energy into writing drunk poetry and watching law & order. Maybe men need to try that instead of murder?
I think the other panelist is right: straight women are often looking for a relationship with a man who can hold a conversation, has interests, and has compassion for the world around him. Conservative men are struggling on these fronts but that's a problem with him not her
youtu.be/QNXHppw-wWU?...
You know, I went all the way through college without having sex, yet somehow I didn't turn into a violent misogynist.
Now I am only speaking from personal experience, but it is possible.
Basically, this is a disgusting argument to make and is clearly an attempt to avoid the real issue here.
They are generalizing themselves. This dude is saying young men will get aggressive if they don't get laid. Men justify violence by saying they are biologically sexually aggressive. Listen to men. They're the first to tell you how awful men are... and then tell women to deal with it.
I'm saying there are men who are evolved past being aggressive horny animals. You know, humans who control their urges and don't blame women those urges. These old guys are like, "Ladies, if you don't want the world to burn, fuck these sad pathetic un evolved males to make them evolve."
While I agree with the sentiment, I don't think using the term "evolved" is accurate.
These guys were *conditioned* to think like this, largely by toxic masculinity, but also societal taboos about things like sex work and masturbation.
Using "evolved" plays into their narrative.
Just saying if I was a farmer and someone said the (random animal) males got destructive when not laid, i'd probably castrate most of them. They are really banking on the solution being mandatory sex provided instead of the more obvious
