I’m seeing people talk about “designated protest zones” and “law-abiding protests.” Seriously, what the fuck are we doing here.

If you read between the lines, they've been screaming "why don't you understand that we are simply better than you?" For years. Of course they don't care about being fair. Of course they don't care about their own hypocrisy. To them it was never hypocrisy, it was earnest belief.

Me too, I thought it was a bit much, surely not. Nope. Seeing the hordes of blue MAGA talking shit about protestors and dick riding a genocide was a huge eye opener for me. I’ve been anti fascist for years, and with this I admit my eyes were closed.

It is hard to swallow the black pill of accepting how bad things are when one is not confronted with it openly. It’s no fun, the knowledge of evil is a curse, but someone has to know it so that we can help others see, and if enough of them see, maybe we will stop putting up with it.

I think there is a fundamental truth needed to understand ideological Democrats: they haven’t abandoned any of the principles of Christian culture or conservatism, they just changed the nouns. Hold it up as a razor to their actions and see if it doesn’t start to make a bit more sense.

Pre Bush. The first time I recall "designated protest zones" was the WTO protests under Clinton. Which were at least largely ignored resulting in The Battle of Seattle.

the subtext here is that all effective forms of peaceful protest (those that inconvenience the majority) are actually violence against the dollar, and will be responded to with physical violence

Protests are fine until they start making s'mores instead of just camping. Marshmallows are very sticky, and that shit gets out of hand.

That reminds me of when China set up designated zones for officially sanctioned protests during their summer games. Protests had to be vetted by the gov't in advance and positioned far from any Olympic sites and journalists. Is the moderate position then to emulate the Chinese gov't?
