I missed the specific pile-on that inspired this thread, but it’s an incredibly perceptive anatomy of a particular type of pile-on. This is the last tweet; scroll back up and read from the top.

95% of my drawing time is accompanied by constant internal screaming in case I fuck it up. People seem to think I know what I'm doing by now. But nope, seriously, my brain is just going AAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaAAAaaaaaaarrrrrrggghh pretty much constantly, no matter the deadline proximity 🙃🤷

Quite often, we are - in fact - struggling mightily to communicate with you in a way that can’t be misunderstood. Unfortunately, there IS no way to communicate that cannot be misunderstood. We’re caught in an often impossible situation. You would have to be willing to listen and believe us to help

Those fears that end up projected onto us because we’re “being weird” can be anything from bigotry, to mental instability, to arrogance, to insecurity In other words, whatever you’re *worried* that “weird” behavior might mean, you’ll likely assume true of neurodivergents This is a mistake.

Ok... To clarify. People are writing "Moths" on things for me, because apparently that is just my name now. People are not actually bestowing moths (alive, dead, real, or unreal) upon me. But if anyone wants to leave me moth goods, plushies, or art I'm here for it
