37) Daniel Mason, North Woods Ecological succession: framed as stories of people living over time in a house in forested western Massachusetts. Despite some silliness and poetry (which I skipped as usual), I'll say it's on my best of the year list; the ecosystems stuff at the end made me cry.

A Powdered Dancer (Argia moesta) damselfly from Sideling Hill Creek State Park. It was so dry up there that there were hardly any butterflies, but tons upon tons of these dancers for some reason. #dragonfly

The thing I'm worried about - aside from more violence - is Democrats losing momentum on pushing back on Project 2025 now because of decorum or whatever. I don't know how much they were really leading the charge there, but it works better if the Biden campaign keeps bringing it up.
