Just going to put this out there: Biden has been the most legislatively effective president since LBJ. The most pro-labor president WW2. He's done more re climate change than any POTUS. He's built an international coalition for Ukraine despite Russia-fueld GOP opposition. And yeah: he's hella old.

Also just tossing it out there, but SCOTUS saying "we need to do this to protect executive authority" when it's literally the executive branch arguing they shouldn't, sort of gives the lie to the idea this was about protecting constitutional departmental interests as opposed to protecting Mr Trump

Homeless people can be arrested for sleeping, Presidents cannot be arrested for rampant graft and corruption done while in office. There is no clearer a summary of "conservative 'law and order'" than this.

Reminder that Aaron Swartz was facing 35 years in prison and financial devastation for trying to programmatically download and open the contents of JSTOR, which led to him taking his own life. But OpenAI is going to scrape all of academia and make billions by plagiarizing it.

New version of chatbot reaches level of function where it responds to all queries by making a little twisty-wrist gesture with pinched fingers and saying “But isn’t it more *complicated* than that?”

i've always loved the Terry Pratchett Boots Theory of socioeconomics but it's really striking now how it's slowly becoming inaccurate bc so many companies straight up do not make good products anymore. not even rich people can buy things that aren't designed to break in 3 years bc they don't exist

There’s a group of kids on the corner selling lemonade. They yell “LEMONADE” at every passing vehicle, but the only people I have seen stop for a drink so far are on foot or bike. There is no shortage of free parking on the street. Maybe this is analogous to local business districts. 😉

A serious attempt by legislators or a candidate to invalidate a plainly valid election to install someone who plainly lost the election as president is not a "legal hack" or "finalizing results". It is treason. It is a treason against the United States and its citizens. We shouldn't dance around it.
