“In the name of unity, stop taking issue with Jan. 6” is “when you say it’s wrong that I hit you, you’re tearing this family apart” on a national scale.

My take: She’s auditioning for SCOTUS, or AG. I can hear it “She ruled to preserve our democracy, and she worked quickly, ending the case that everyone knew was a political witch hunt, she said ‘no more’ and for that we thank her. And we know we can trust her to be fair’
The only thing that surprises me about what Judge Cannon did is that she did it this soon, on grounds this likely to be overturned.

The Republican Party has nominated a man for Vice President who says he would have ended American democracy if he’d had that role in 2021. abcnews.go.com/Politics/jd-...

Reminder for no particular reason that no one knows how this election will turn out, no one can foresee how an event today will impact voters’ choices four months from now, and it is still incumbent on all of us to fight fascism and not acquiesce to doom.

Vance was Heritage's pick so don't forget about Project 2025, which proceeds apace

Oh my god
Hey, Judge Cannon finally managed to make a decision about something. It's the wrong decision, and it's going to get smacked down again, but it gives Trump even more delay, and that's really all that matters.

I bought kickboards so I could exercise my legs in the pool. They make great floating tray tables for my beverage and my kindle.

So we don't really know anything about the shooter still except that he was a registered Republican and for some reason donated $15 to ActBlue on inauguration day 2021? And because he's so young, the political registration is the more recent event

I read “Where the Dark Stands Still” and I loved it. 9/10, only bc some of it was extremely predictable. But I forgive it, bc it was so enjoyable a read 💙 📚💙

Scott Jennings is an ass clown. Why is he still on tv?
Scott Jennings on CNN right now saying this is on Dems for saying Trump will end democracy on the US. And Bash and Blitzer are like, yes, we have to tamp down the rhetoric on both sides. Absolute marks. Jesus Christ.

Just a reminder: it’s good to oppose assassinations. But you are under absolutely no obligation to treat Trumpists and Trump-apologists as people who are honest, or acting in good faith, when they purport to condemn political violence or violent rhetoric. They’re not sincere.

As a staunch opponent of political violence, I greatly prefer when national leaders respond to it by condemning violence and expressing concern for victims (image 1) rather than encouraging violence and laughing at victims (image 2).

*casually lighting my law degree on fire* you see, the framers’ vision of the separation of powers requires that congress not regulate moonshiners, but the president can send agents to kill them in order to secure his royal monopoly.

Yup
Literally the one thing we know for sure is that there WILL be a Democratic nominee for president this year. And we'll just have to do whatever's necessary to see that they win. If you're freaking out right now just accept that there are some things you can't control.

It all comes back to abortion Anyone who can read the Fl SC decision on abortion and think it’s a good ruling is absolutely unqualified to run a lemonade stand, let alone a country They literally said this does not apply to pregnant people.
