" I need to mow the lawn but before I do that I think I'm gonna grill a steak" - Krissy, who indeed grilled up a big-ass center cut sirloin before firing up her riding lawn mower.

Krissy Mows and Grills is an hgtv show I would binge.

I'll pitch it the next time I'm in LA

Can you pass her a note from me asking if she wants to be my girlfriend?
Avatar
Yes, I will add it to the stack

One of my favorite desktop wallpapers. Her code is taller than she is!

The Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building had a life-size print of that photo on display near their entrance a few years ago.

Are y'all looking to adopt? 😉

Come on. Don't cut your lawn. Throw out some flower seeds and make it a bee friendly meadow.

Lol you even made a FAQ for this. 🤭

As someone marginally semi-notable, I get asked a lot of questions over and over again, so have documents to point people to.

I’m just glad it’s not me asking this time! I feel like it’s a right of passage to ask about the yard. (Also it really is massive)
Avatar
It's a good yard, John.

That absolutely would have gone feral in my keep, but I appreciate the "if I don't have to mow it, fine by me" attitude. 😅

I was like "for Athena to play in? Isn't his daughter an entire adult now?" I mean, she can still play in the yard well into senescence if that's her thing, I just figure she has other hobbies by now.

You know, if you turned your lawn into prairie, every so often you'd get to burn it. u.osu.edu/marionprairi...

Your Yard FAQ is about old enough to start mowing your yard.
Avatar
First time I read these even though it's not the first time I see it. But I wonder, does clause 3 have changed and was there an interest from Athena to serve as labor? 🤣

I have 10 acres of which 5 or is field that I mow with a zero turn. I have mowed enough for several lifetimes. Here is the NW corner with a flock of wild turkeys

A giant yard is literally the American dream. I'm honestly surprised you don't sit in front of it, sipping beer with whomever you find tolerable, and saying "Yep," as you muse over your heath.

For my own yard, that is, not interested in Scalzi’s yard, it doesn’t have enough trees and the sky would crush me

I love that this lawn FAQ is over a decade old.

Besides, no doubt the par-3 18th coming into the clubhouse is difficult enough already without flowers. 😉

Do you guys see a lot of critters?
Avatar
Actually you don't wind up with a bee friendly meadow but a field full of non native invasive species which is what my property was when I got it. Took years to remove tartarian honeysuckle and autumn olive among other species which choked out just about everything.
Avatar
Please tell me she has it on a fork in her left hand, taking/testing bites out of it while she drives the mower with her right hand. I don't care what is happening in reality, this is how legends are made. Please lie to me 🤣

Your wife rules. [You know this, but I wanted to say it anyway.]

How does she not just play "Ride of the Valkyries" after that? How? There should be a law.

How did you manage to even meet this magical creature?

She's got her priorities straight
Avatar
1: "her riding lawn mower" implies you have his and hers riding lawnmowers... very romantic. 2: Are ya'll poly? Cuz I *too* have a grill and lawn I can't seem to get around to mowing 3: Ya'll are so sweet it's giving me cavities. N:...relationship goals.

She's gonna need another one by the time the lawn is finished!

She really is just so Krissy. There isn't another word. I'll bet she has nothing to say to her teenage self.

She is woman. Hear her mower roar.

Glad you are very aware of how lucky you are. Following you is a joy.

Doesn't Charlie Dog run alongside to "help" or has he learned moderation?

I got a little MowBot to mow for me. So fun and futuristic!

Were you nice enough that she shared it with you? (The steak, not the mowing duties.)
