This is the ball game folks, the authoritarian green light laid out in advance. Congress will not impeach Trump. And SCOTUS now blesses him with extraordinary latitude to do whatever he wants in power. A second administration will not be constrained by Congress, the courts, the bureaucracy or law.

Trump, who tried to overthrow an election, campaigned persistently for his fellow party members to grant him absolute immunity for his misdeeds in office. And they did. If you can't distinguish between "energy in the executive" and a constitutional crime spree, you've given up on US democracy.

Supremes say former presidents get presumptive Immunity from official acts. What's an official act? Who the fuck knows? No test given. Basically there's no way trump is getting tried before November for any of the cases.

This supreme court in almost the same breath, they said today "we cant say if homelessness is a protected status, and cities can criminalize it" and "yes, courts should be the arbiters of highly technical environmental and safety regulations, especially in cutting them down to help billionaires"

Lmao, the literal previous decision of the Court basically said, "who are courts to decide if homelessness is a crime?" My understanding is that this decision basically says courts are pretty good arbiters of highly technical regulations that they know absolutely nothing about.

Roberts has the opinion overruling the 1984 case setting forth a standard in which courts give federal agencies deference to their reasonable interpretations of ambiguous laws. The decision gives more power to the courts to strike down agency actions. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/23p...
