As if to prove Dan and David's points in this thread, guess what. Trumps polling really didn't change at all after the shooting. www.newsweek.com/donald-trump...
I think the phenomenon I've really seen is how many regular people had the reaction of wishing a former president had had his brains blown out on live TV. Not freaks or radicals, someone's mom.
Donald Trump does not get post-shooting poll boostwww.newsweek.com The new poll has revealed that Donald Trump is leading Joe Biden by just one percentage point ahead of the presidential election in November.

Political violence is bad and a second Trump presidency means more of it.
Really struggling to understand why both the mainstream media and Democratic leadership are finding it so hard right now to express what I think is a fairly basic point. Political violence is bad and a second Trump presidency means more of it. www.garbageday.email/p/yet-anothe...

LRT: If you really think this is a "lesser of two evils" election coming up, you should really look at Project 2025 and see how much worse it really is compared to electing Biden to a second term. Also it betrays a lack of understanding of how much Biden actually has done but that's another thread.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Biden can be bullied into being more progressive, and I appreciate that. This is probably the most progressive platform we’ve seen from an incumbent president.

Reminder that telling a designer a story of what happened when you ran their adventure is better than almost anything else you can do for them (apart from recommending the adventure to a friend). Just got a story in the comments on Itch for an adventure and it absolutely made my day. #ttrpg

Clarence Thomas took $267,000 from a health insurance executive, then issued rulings that made health insurance companies more money, while harming millions of Americans. This is a bribe. This isn’t complicated. Expand the Supreme Court.

I want Biden and all his surrogates out there talking about this. Telling voters "The GOP lied to you about an army of IRS jackboots coming for you because they knew rich people were cheating the government and they wanted to keep it that way."
The IRS reported Wednesday that it has collected $1 billion in taxes and penalties owed by hundreds of wealthy households who accumulated past-due tax debts for years while IRS enforcement dwindled.

This pretty much sums it up.

The opting out is especially wild Like, Republican governors are being actively presented with money to feed kids and affirmatively saying 'I would like children to starve actually' (Also, if I'm a Dem campaigner, I'm making some ads and placing some op eds about this immediately)
The governors of a dozen Republican-led states — AL, AK, FL, GA, IA, MS, OK, SC, SD, TX, UT, WY — opted out of a new federal food assistance program, leaving about 9.5 million students without the aid this summer

Lessons I've learned from the LLM era (list to be expanded, probably): 1. Sufficiently advanced autocomplete is indistinguishable from an impossibly well-read toddler on peyote. 2. Almost any decision has the potential to be a life-or-death decision, if you're bad enough at it.
