This 5% yearly-rent-increase cap proposal from Biden will absolutely prevent more people from becoming homeless. Many renters here in California get a yearly 10% rent increase, and we know that a median rent increase of just $100 is associated with a 9% increase in the homelessness rate.

This is what AOC and Bernie get for sticking by Biden, and we can debate the policy, but this is a super-tangible win for the left side of the Democratic Party

Goddammit, people should not be fucking DYING from HEAT in a place that they cannot leave or where they cannot control their environment. Air conditioning in California's Central Valley should be BASIC, like food, water, and shelter. I'm not sure how this doesn't constitute at least manslaughter.
