I really find this to be a fascinating phenomenon. There was a time, not too long ago, that drawing "dirty" pictures really could hurt your career, but that simply doesn't seem to be the case anymore. If anything, I feel like I've gotten more opportunities since I started openly drawing spicy stuff

For a second there I was worried doing pin-ups could have a potential negative impact on my current gigs but then I remembered who I work for and threw my head back and just laughed and laughed and laughed

One of my personal Mandela Moments is that I swear I saw the biplane version in the theater as a kid. I mean, I couldn't have, obviously, but it's clearly there in my memory.

Originally, ID4 ended with Randy Quaid strapping a bomb to his crop duster and ramming it into the alien spaceship. But the filmmakers decided it wouldn't be "realistic" for a biplane to be dogfighting aliens so they gave him an F/A-18 and added a scene where he drinks a lot of coffee to sober up.

and even if someone thinks "well I don't like/look at porn so why should it be a priority for me?" it's important to remember that when christofascists say "porn" they also mean age-appropriate comprehensive sex education, media with queer/trans people in it, and picture books about gay penguins.

I know smut may seem like a frivolous thing to be upset about, but crushing it is part of fascism. Controlling all forms of sexual expression is fascism. Only allowing certain kinds is fascism. Smut peddlers are always canaries in the coal mines.

The thing that always bugged me about this speech is that sounds real nice as long as it's coming from someone you agree with. "No, you move" doesn't sound as moving when it's coming from racist, sexist, transphobes, or science deniers.
