Just off the top of my head, 5 victories won by leftists without a vote for their liberal party: bus driver union wins pay raise, green and LD gain seats, amazon workers win representation, UPS drivers win pay rise, Joe the nazi run out of Liverpool

I just don’t get what the “I can’t bring myself to vote for Biden” people think will happen if their plan comes to fruition. None of them seem to care about The Revolution beyond abstraction, much less have an alternative system to promote. I don’t even see leftists advocating for the Green Party!

Posting something persuasive or informative can make a difference. Just scolding people in post form does not.

Okay okay. More seriously. We now need to pressure Labour moving forward (as my union has voted to do). We need to fight to not just have a new coat of paint on the same policies.

Yeah you’re right! It IS bad! It was also nearly as true a year and a half ago. The other side is running a candidate who is a rapist, a convicted felon, and who tried to overthrow the government, which seems even worse! But for some reason we accept that will just get papered over.

I will be celebrating the Tories losing spectacularly tonight, but won't be celebrating this Labour Party winning. I hope as many Lib Dem and Green MPs get returned as possible, to hold Starmer to account from his left and give a proper basis for a progressive opposition and real change.
