popular gun youtuber who dresses up in waffen ss uniforms totally nonpolitically
This popular gun YouTuber posted a very convincing and sympathetic video explaining why he's so upset that Trump's would-be assassin was wearing one of his t-shirts. But it seems he also quietly just removed this hat from his online merch store. (h/t Reddit)

Psst: Project 2025 is terrifying for a lot of reasons but also because on page 5 it calls for teachers and librarians who grant access to books that are maligned as pornography (which just means anything LGBTQ) to be registered as sex offenders. Pass it on.

One of the reasons most folks struggle here to conceptualize it is that immigration courts are part of the executive branch, not the judicial branch. Which means virtually everyone's basic conception of what this system actually *is* is just wrong.
These people really don’t get what happens if Trump takes power again.

Officials in Houston are sending people to out-of-state prisons for pretrial detention. The chief public defender of Harris County sounded the alarm: “It’s hugely expensive, it draws things out, and it destroys relationships between clients & lawyers.” boltsmag.org/harris-count...
Out of Sightboltsmag.org County officials have responded to an overcrowding crisis in Texas’ largest jail by shipping more people from Houston to far-flung, for-profit lockups with even worse oversight.

If you're constantly immersing yourself in the worst parts of humanity without any kind of respite or pleasant experiences or any sort of break, and everything in your life revolves around terribleness, it fucks you up. It fucks you up hard, it fucks you up bad, and it fucks you up in lasting ways.

The available evidence doesn't suggest conspiracy or saturation with anti-Trump rhetoric as causes of the assassination attempt. But those specifics aren't politically useful to Trump, so the prime mover instead becomes "they." www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Most folks won't notice this and the top-line is kinda similar, but perhaps worth calling out anyway: Vance's anti-abortionism is importantly /different/ to most evangelical anti-abortionism, tho the top-line is the same; it's secular white-nationalist rooted, not to a belief in pre-birth rights
From the JD Vance (Senate) campaign website. JD Vance would ban every single woman (or girl) from receiving an abortion, no matter the circumstances by which she was impregnated or the danger to her health. Maybe (just maybe) if she risks imminent death.

I used this as a pretext to tell my rep that court reform was a top issue for me and asked them support AOC’s push to impeach Thomas and Alito
Judge Cannon went and did it. She has dismissed the stolen documents case against Trump on Clarence Thomas’s (nonsense) appointments clause rationale.

Here’s the thing about the Vance pick: it’s probably unhelpful in electoral terms. But, in terms of governance, it’s further evidence that they’re Going For It. Trump 1 was hobbled in his authoritarian attempt by the admin and GOP. Trump 2 will be aided by both. They’re gonna go for it.
