It drives me nuts when people say we need to make sure poor people have access to AI. The entire schtick is focused on providing AI slop to the masses while ensuring the elites get real human professionals. Having a human teacher or doctor or lawyer cannot become a bespoke luxury for the wealthy.

A Second Trump Term Will Usher In Deadly White Supremacist Christofascism According to Explicit Manifesto vs. No It Won’t
even trump’s campaign staff (i assume he didn’t write this) knows that the reactionary, authoritarian agenda that’s project 2025 is going to be unpopular with the average voter.

Holy crap Amazon added a chatbot to its app and it's 1) incredibly annoying 2) absolutely tanking the page load speed 3) undoubtedly burning more fossil fuels than I will in my whole life just to let me ask "what do the reviews say" in natural language. Taking a gigantic dump to replace a button.

Everyone knows the idiomatic lesson of Caesar hanging out on the bank of the Rubicon which led to the precipitous continuance of the Roman Republic
It's just hilariously disingenuous. Imagine looking at, say, ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY and concluding that the biggest threat to liberty isn't abuse of power, but powerful people refraining from sufficiently wielding their authority out of fear that they might one day be held accountable.

Neutron bombs don’t kill people & leave buildings standing. enhanced radiation weapons produce heat and light & blast albeit less of it relative to radiation output. USA versions were <2kt. Nuclear weapons up to around 20kt have lethal radiation ranges that overlap with survivable blast effects.
“The worst heat waves are more like neutron bombs: They kill people while leaving buildings standing. And most of the deaths occur beyond the gaze of observers, including photographers.”

Counterpoint public transit should be free and not expected to turn a profit and we can do that with things like congestion pricing anyway I guess I’ll be governor of NY if no one else wants it

a hill that I will not die on, but rather massacre everyone trying to capture the hill: self-directed one-way attack drones are not drones but CRUISE MISSILES they fly, guided by gps, to a location and blow something up. just like a tomahawk. the fact they look like r/c planes is irrelevant

Extremely bizarre move to try to add another ASD position, especially when DoD isn't asking for it. "Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Deterrence Policy and Programs" Of course we're in a "spend everything" mode with GOP nuclear policy, but it doesn't usually include top personnel adds.

Spending on flights is up 63% at a time when they're also rolling out much cheaper drone units. They're flying VIPs to events and out to the Hamptons. They're (still) harassing nonwhite neighborhoods and protests by flying too low. hellgatenyc.com/the-nypd-is-...
You're Not Imagining Things: The NYPD Is Flying Way More Helicopters - Hell Gatehellgatenyc.com Keeping libraries open is cool but have you ever flown a taxpayer-funded chopper to the Hamptons on a summer Friday?
