The “gag strip,” a short comic strip common in newspapers, is sometimes viewed as a simplistic form of humor. Yet gag strips are considerably more complex than they’re often given credit for, due in part to comics’ unique representations of space & time. 1/12 #ComicsStudies
in D&D rn:
we are in a temple with fonts of water that could be turned into holy water
me: so do the fonts have angels on them? I'm curious as to if they're seraph or sans-seraph fonts
Saw my first cybertruck this week. It was going the opposite direction while I was driving, so I didn't get a great look, but I got the gyst. It mostly left the impression of being large and clunky. Like those awful hummers but somehow dumber.

Mark Twain hated the Fourth of July.
He was often invited to speak at Independence Day festivities. His audiences assumed that his reliably unpatriotic remarks were tongue-in-cheek jests.
But he meant that shit.

Unless it's more of an action monster, like Godzilla, I much prefer not to see the whole monster. Letting the viewer's mind fill in the spaces with their own brand of fear will nearly always make the monster better.
I remember reading reviews of The Mothman Prophecies complaining that we never actually see the creature in question and like - YOU FOOLS THAT'S WHAT MADE IT SO SCARY
Hi! The Onion is bringing back our Writing Fellowship.
The fellowship has produced some of the biggest names in comedy, at The Onion and elsewhere.
It was a casualty private equity. We are reviving it.
The program is six months long and includes health insurance.

I think I would spend the rest of my life collecting every cool piece of dragon artwork that crosses my path. I want the kind of collection that after I die people say "This is basically already a museum. Should we just turn her house into a dragon art museum?"
ok friends & Bsky strangers, tell me your FRIVOLOUS Powerball-winning acquisition goal
Mine: a Studebaker that I’d take to the body shop for an Electric Mayhem paint job
Another person just mentioned a Linotype machine
sure, housing security, debt payoff, but what’s your ridiculous niche desire?
Going live on Twitch with some PokeRogue! If you're not familiar its a web-based fan game turning Pokemon into a rogue-like and it's a ton of fun.

"Teach me to fight!"
"Very well," the swordmaster said, "but first tell me why you want to learn."
"My honour has been stained!"
"Ah. I will teach you, if you accept the first lesson."
"Which is?"
"There is no stain that can be washed away with blood."

The worst part of Dungeons & Dragons is when your character dies and the DM gets to eat all your dice. You’re crying and she’s just like cromch cromch cromch. ☹️
This is the first time I've listed any of the PNW dragon series original painting in my shop, and the first that I've fully framed (uv glass, conservation protection, ready to hang).
Patrons have exclusive access until May 13th, then they'll go into the main shop

I accidentally posted a photo without ALT text earlier on my other account (@whatdoveganseat.bsky.social) and had to delete and re-post, so this is just reminder that if you have multiple accounts here make sure you have this setting turned on for each one!
mentions are full of the most insufferable AIbros today so i’m asking you to quote this with something you’ve drawn or written with your hands and brain, even if, ESPECIALLY if, you don’t think you’re the creative type
go make something
The pokemon light switch post reminded me of another fun little guy I did. Iiiiiiit's a bulbasaur keychain! The second keychain is a symbol from Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive series. Bridge Four!
