I remember watching Faerie Tale Theatere on, IIRC, OPB back in the day. It's like that with Shelley Duvall and then George Carlin's run as Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station that get quietly forgotten. We really don't give public broadcasting enough love in a lot of ways.

And despite a half-century of work they still can’t consistently win the popular vote. Volunteer for your local school board or arts commission or library board and you can block these book bans and radical agendas! Vote for empathic city councils and mayors and you can protect your community!

Related to this - it needs to be okay for people to have a "wrong" interpretation of art - sometimes people's life experiences will cause them to take something away from a work that doesn't map with other people's reactions.

Oh god yes. I'm currently so frustrated with a culture who is bent on being able to say, authoritatively, what a work of art *is* because the point is that art needs the room to be not completely knowable, so you can let yourself have the gift of thinking about what you're unsure of.
