For the most part*, unless you're listening to a live radio show, any "DJ" you hear talking about the songs that are playing is actually pre-recorded. Very few major stations use live voice talent, and automation is commonplace. *This varies slightly based on market size and station format.

So you're saying if we change the name people will immediately understand what it is and how it's measured and what to do based on the reading? Or will they just know a new word? It doesn't matter what you call it, no one knows what it even means! We have a system, let's educate people about it.

Which is all well and good, but nobody knows about any of it, so rather than start by quibbling about names, we should get the information out there to educate and protect people. I know it as Wet Bulb because that's how I was trained, but at least I know what it measures and I know what it means.

Average Americans don't know about either of them, but since Wet Bulb is the system we actually USE it's more effective to educate people about that than to try to drum up a movement to replace a measurement no one knows about anyways. I prefer the metric system but I'm realistic about it.
