With next year being the 100th anniversary of the Scopes Monkey Trial, I bet we're gonna get thinkpieces galore about how that was the start of a parallel epistemic ecosystem that requires conspiracy theories and distrust of experts and govt to survive. (1/2)

(2/2) Even if most people raised in that ecosystem (or who marry into it) don't know about the creationism and the white supremacy, the distrust and conspiracies live on. I will read all of those thinkpieces btw.
