As a Jewish white lefty, I absolutely hope that a shooter is white and always breathe a sigh of relief when he almost inevitably is revealed to be so. I have no idea how white conservatives receive these things, but I suspect they aren’t as worried about being lumped in with a shooter.
Implicit in that hope is the assumption that there’s not likely to be racially generalized retributive violence because of a white shooter, but definitely might be (especially in this case) if shooter is a POC.
Yeah, instead they’re going to back off for a couple of days, take the weekend to sit on their hands, then Monday or Tuesday start back up again, including an op-ed from let’s say Bradley Whitford.
It’s just so much easier to wake up early on the eastern edge of a time zone vs. the west. We just got back from vacation in Michigan, and naturally slept a little later, then drifted back earlier upon returning to Maine.
