Long elections waste immense amounts of money. they harass potential voters into apathy. They play into the horse-race, scandal-fed view of politics that feeds deeply unserious media coverage. They NOT INCIDENTALLY make it difficult/impossible for campaigns to deal with last-minute surprises.
note how long it took the French from calling the election to holding not 1 but 2 votes? and organizing the shit out of the second one? LESS THAN ONE MONTH A national election does not have to be a painful 1.5-2 year process! the US election campaign should quite honestly not even have started yet!!

either my email is broken or nobody wants these for real 35$ with free shipping seems good to me? idk
Sometimes packages get returned and usually I can get it worked out with the person. Other times I get ghosted for years and years. But now I'm tired of looking at these sad little boxes on a shelf and someone else can have the items within for a reasonable price. info in images and alt text

I am an anarchist and I still vote. I am begging my fellow leftists to not give ammo to the fascists against our cause by behaving badly online. We are supposed to be creating a better world for EVERYONE, by means that won't leave the most vulnerable people by the wayside.
Also: Get off your arse and vote. My constituency was won for Labour by 15 votes. A high turnout from the French sorted this. You don't vote? Well, the fash do. If you're replying to this with why it's ideologically impure for a truly left wing person to vote, please just block yourself, I'm tired.

We need to keep many of the current systems that people rely on to SURVIVE operational even while crafting change to those systems. We CANNOT "burn it all down and start over" because the very people we want to protect will LITERALLY DIE without a lot of our "modern conveniences".

You don't want war. We need to stop doing wars. We need to be smarter than fascists because we will never be meaner and more violent and we wouldn't WANT to win that way! We cannot beat them with their own weapons and ways of thinking.

So voting is better than *not* voting when it comes to getting what you want? Huh.
BREAKING NEWS: Voters turned out in numbers not seen in decades to stop the far-right National Rally from taking power in the French National Assembly. Polls predicted a first-place finish for National Rally, which instead came in third in initial results as polling stations closed.

I will bang this drum forever: in THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE FREE: THE GERMANS, 1933-45 Milton Mayer interviewed 10 ordinary Germans after WW2 to learn how fascism took hold. There was never a moment when everyone woke up:
if you’re waiting for everyone around you to wake up, you’ll wait forever. this is how the people grinding our bones to make their bread WANT you to be. paralyzed, alienated & purposeless

My god, the Finns are right, sauna DOES cure everything!
This is so cool! Frog & amphibian have been dessimated by the disease chytridiomycosis, caused by a fungal pathogen. Researchers have realised that the fungi is heat intolerant so little brick saunas for frogs can help kill the fungi! Recovered frogs more resistant to further infxn 🧪

People complained that Chengdu zoo was letting their clouded leopard get fat, their expert explained "This cat is like thirty years old, that's twice as old clouded leopards GET, and he's just had major surgery. Making him lose weight would do WAY more harm, just let him have this."

Watch SCAVENGERS REIGN. Watch CAROL AND THE END OF THE WORLD. Watch BLUE EYE SAMURAI. Watch PLUTO. Netflix needs to understand that *original animated series for YA/adults* have value beyond raunchy comedy. There IS an audience for it. They’ll keep canceling them unless they see those numbers.

So, there's a dark green pigment being sold online as "Monte Carlo Green", and the sellers list the pigment as PG7 (phthalo green blue shade) but I suspect someone (maybe the manufacturer!) made a typo because they also list the chemical formula as "C3OH18FeN3NaO6" - the formula for PG8. 🤔

I don't know shit about chemistry or anything, I figured it out via artiscreation.com 🤷

❤️ For those who don’t know, your history books show you Black Panthers with guns. But mostly, they were building essential community support systems to feed, educate & provide care. And that’s what the white power structure couldn’t tolerate.
The Black Panther Party learned that sickle cell anemia was a neglected genetic disease affecting mostly people of African descent. Although disease had been known since 1910, it attracted little govt attention and even less funding. So the Panthers set up a screening program. #BlackSky #Disability

I would see my front yard, and the yards around mine, planted with native flora, because some program would exist that sends people around to help plant and maintain habitat gardens for free or low cost to the community.

Here, Dr. Swain is taking it to the next step - organization and actualization What skills are needed to help build this future, and how do we access/learn them? Where do we seek counsel, who do we turn to for wisdom, and why? How would we know if it were helping? How could we tell, if it weren’t?
Thank you for these response. Now for your level two imagination challenge: you go to the town square, the public library, the civic center and there are posters for upcoming meetings, for skill share, decision making, learning, and problem solving. What do they say?

This is called, “The Miracle Question” It’s designed to help us not only imagine a better future, but also to elicit concrete information regarding what “better” means to us. We can’t take action towards a future we can’t imagine. So the first step is knowing how to actually recognize “better” 4U

Our posts (collectively) matter, but MY posts, personally, don't matter as much as someone with a lot more followers. This is how the world has always worked, the internet just removes geography from the equation.
If our posts didn't matter, they wouldn't have wanted to make the internet a place where you can't decide whether a post was written by a bot, a troll or someone who actually knows what they are talking about. They have intentionally gone out of their way to try to sabotage online activism.
