I'm reading a bunch of 19th century French politics stuff and literally the only thing that separates their rhetoric of reaction from ours is that everything bad = pantheism. It's sort of refreshing, actually.
Fahey claimed that communism was a plot to create “a world-state in which the Jewish race will be supreme” and “have control of the wealth of the nations." FWIW, Posobiec just published a new book about the danger of Communism. www.google.com/books/editio...

Whichever way is the right way - Biden gets out, Biden stays in - ideally you don't even consider the other way. You get right on with the right way, whichever way that is. Unfortunately it doesn't forestall debate to just yell this truth at the other side. Gotta have a debate.

Also, one of the key elements of the John Roberts arc, like the Sam Stein arc, is that - although he is smart and a capable 'house wins' casino manager - he has to do that job while dealing with fallout from a whole rogues gallery of idiots, hotheads and chaos agents. It gets to be too much.
My "Casino" 3-3-3 theory of the court. Roberts (Kav + Barrett) is Sam and Alito (Thomas + Gorsuch) is Nicky. Sam to Nicky: 'This place is a license to print laws and the Dems can't touch us, and you risk that for what, drawing this heat?' Sam is a manager, a politician - but things get out of hand.

These are terrible human beings, and they should be kept as far away from power as possible.
As a side note, this is John McEntee, Trump's Director of White House Personnel and the primary architect of Project 2025. On Tik Tok he said he gives counterfeit bills to homeless people so they will be arrested when they go to spend them.

Yes, not ok. I recommend being very cool-headed in arguing about it, like so. Biden-defenders are making the argument that it's simply too risky to switch. But the response is: Biden is on track to lose, due to his evident, age-related difficulties. Any replacement D is not likely to do worse.
*There's* the schmuck I've disliked since 1988. I don't know what the right thing to do is, but good lord is that now what this is about. The correct answer is "defeating Donald Trump is a matter of the gravest national importance. I'm the one who has done it and I believe I'm the one...

Members of the military are supposed to refuse illegal orders. But are they supposed to also refuse 'immune' orders, i.e. illegal orders from a superior officer who him or herself can't be prosecuted for giving that order? Does immunity trickle down? I guess that's what pardon power is for?

Amanda talks about how if you factually describe that the SCOTUS immunity ruling permits the President to kill his rivals if done as CinC, they accuse you of TDS. I even had Catturd do that to me!
Why read past headlines: If you wonder why Trump and his cronies say terrible things out loud that should turn off swing voters, this article explains it. But it's a high-risk/high-reward fascist strategy. With Project 2025, it may be backfiring. www.salon.com/2024/07/05/p...

To me it's fairly obvious that Biden should withdraw at this point. The reasoning is simple. Complaining about the D's who have turned on him since the debate is beside the point. Right or wrong, it's happened. He is now not the likeliest to beat Trump. Presidenting is a tough job. What more to say?

That's ... right. But you've only got 5 votes for it. Barrett will side with the dissenting liberals.
The State of the Union is constitutionally mandated. A president could stand there and confess to crimes, call for the deaths of enemies while reading out their addresses, lay out a step by step plan to overthrow Congress. None of it would be admissible

The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up. The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.
